Appreciation I’m Maysnow Liu, and I’m looking forward to serving as one of Irvington’s Appreciation Commissioners for the upcoming year. As an Appreciation commissioner, my task is to appreciate and welcome all aspects of our Irvington community, whether it be teachers, staff members, different student groups, clubs on campus, or sports members. In the past, we’ve mainly focused on appreciating and honoring the Irvington community after large events, so one of my main goals this year is to appreciate the smaller achievements that happen on campus. Though my job can be very broad, some specific things we like to do each year are: making care packages for sport teams during their season, heading Staff Appreciation Week and Teacher Dinner, planning Love Vikings Week alongside Edjoy, and honoring Students and Athletes of the month. Our ultimate goal as an Appreciation team is to make Irvington’s campus positive, so through our various events and activities, I hope to make our school’s atmosphere a bit more welcoming and warm for everybody on campus. If you have any suggestions or advice for our team, please feel welcomed to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Appreciation: Sruti Nagam
Hi friends!! My name is Sruti Nagam and I’m super excited and thankful to serve as one of your Appreciation Commissioners for the 2017-2018 year! My focus this year is making sure all of the teachers and student body are fully settled into the school and feel loved through various events and projects. This year, the Appreciation Commission is looking to broaden its scope and organize new and exciting events. We’ll be launching new video projects that involve both students and staff which will help spread everyones positivity and love. While working with other commissions, we’re hoping to introduce and bring back elements such as athlete/student of the month and a superintendent’s dinner to recognize some of our amazing students. These events help reinforce our appreciation for all of the students and staff as it sometimes gets lost through the everyday workings of a busy school day. Irvington is home to kind-hearted and loving students and staff. Through new video projects and social media campaigns, we hope to engage these students across all platforms and make inclusivity a top priority. As a part of the Appreciation Commission, my hope is that more students feel as if they’re appreciated and heard and feel welcomed. As always, I’m here to serve you and I’m always open to suggestions! If you would like your voice to be heard regarding a certain issue, please email the Appreciation Commission at email@example.com LOOKING FORWARD TO AN AMAZING YEAR VIKINGS! <3

Freshman Intern: Edison Ma
Hi everybody! My name is Edison Ma and I'll be serving as your ASG Freshman Intern this 2017-2018 school year. As Freshman Intern, I'll be serving as an assistant to some of the other members in ASG, while also, working on some of my own events, such as Senior Citizen Ball, Red Ribbon Week, and more. For Red Ribbon Week, I will be trying to spread awareness about drugs, alcohol, and tobacco use across teens in America. Along with Red Ribbon Week, there will be Senior Citizen Ball, which is a performance and ball all in one at a nearby Senior Living place. In general, I'll be working on several community/school events, which will both be educational and fun at the same time. Let's get ready for 2017-2018 Vikings! :)

Edjoycation: Beth Bridges
Hey there! My name is Beth Bridges and I’m very thankful to have the opportunity to serve as one of Irvington's 2017-2018 Edjoycation commissioners. As an Edjoycation commissioner, I will work to make education at Irvington more enjoyable, and I will strive to relieve stress for students. Overall, my goal is to make Irvington an easier and happier place for students to navigate. I will empathize this goal during Welcome Week and Stress-Free Week. However, I will work to brighten the days of students and provide any needed assistance all year long.
Edjoycation: Colleen Li
Edjoycation: Jessie Cheng
Hello! My name is Jessie Cheng and I will be serving as part of Irvington's Edjoycation Commission. My main goal is to focus on understanding the many pressures we as students feel in order to plan events which will interest and highly benefit all Irvington students. Ultimately, I want to help ensure a more positive and loving environment here on Irvington campus, so students will feel like they belong as part of the Irvington community. We all come from different families, set unique goals for ourselves, and think differently from one other, and these factors make it significantly harder to understand and empathize with those around us. Therefore, our commission is planning to hold multiple Student Fishbowl events over the course of the year, where students will be asked questions regarding their student life and parents/teachers can listen to grasp a better understanding of what goes on in the minds of teenage students. A personal goal I set for myself is that I want to be an approachable person people can feel comfortable around, and constantly love and empathize with people despite any differences. Please feel free to message me anytime on Facebook, or email firstname.lastname@example.org to give us feedback or advice. Know today that you're beautiful & loved. Enjoy your day~~

My goal as a commissioner for EdJoycation is to create a warm and welcoming environment for students and to ease some of the stress and anxiety many Irvington students battle on a daily basis. I plan to hold events that combat these issues and bring joy into the lives of our students along with my fellow commissioners. We plan to start off the year strong with Welcome Week, a week to show our students that we appreciate them and create an inviting atmosphere for the upcoming school year. We will also host Love Vikings Week, Stress Free Week, Core Week as well as other stress-free tutorials throughout the school year to help Irvington students manage their workload and work to make Irvington a more stress-free environment. I hope that my actions will make a lasting impact on the lives of Irvington students and I am very excited to have this opportunity to serve my school and community!

As Co-Elections Commissioner, my job is to plan out all the logistics of Homecoming King and Queen reveals, plan the spring elections, recruit incoming freshmen, and act as the chairperson of Certified Vikings. For the King and Queen reveal, we must plan the voting process for nominations, court, and the actual King/Queen voting. Planning out the court reveal and King/Queen reveal also includes buying all the necessary supplies and making the props. For the spring elections, we have to make applications and interview all the candidates. Then, we have to plan out the speeches, Q&A’s, the elections assembly, and the voting process. Finally, we are in charge of the Certified Vikings Program, which is a new program we are starting this year to recognize students that have met certain criteria. Hello friends!! My name is Alvina and I'll be serving as your IOC Commissioner along with Kareena :-) My main focus this year is to regulate all club activities on campus and make sure they are following club rules. My goal this year is to have a successful Multicultural week and create workshops for current/new clubs to have a more successful club. We have so many clubs this year (60+) and I want to be able to showcase all their talents during Multicultural week. We also have a lot of clubs that don't know all the rules or simply need help in running their club, so we hope that these workshops will help them to reach a bigger audience or help with management. As mentioned before we have more than 60 clubs on campus, so there's is something for everyone and if not, create a club! If you have any club questions, whether it's about creating a club or wanting to find a club let us know on Facebook (Alvina Wu or Kareena Wu) or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Hey friends! My name is Kareena Wu and I'm looking forward to serving as one of the IOC (Clubs) Co-commissioners this year, alongside Alvina. This year, we are aiming to keep accountable for all of the clubs on campus by effectively communicating with club officers. Our goal is to help clubs learn and follow all ASB club management rules, to ensure that all 70+ clubs are able to run smoothly. We also hope to help clubs so that they can effectively reach out to Irvington students to expand their club membership. This upcoming year, Alvina and I will be planning managing club booths during Maze Days, as the Club Rushes that will be held throughout the year. We will also be in charge of club registrations in the fall and the spring, to help diversify the different clubs that are available on campus. We will mainly be managing clubs throughout the entire year, making sure that clubs are following all the rules and regulations. Our main event that we will be planning is our second annual Multicultural Week , which will help acknowledge and honor the diversity that makes up our school. I am looking forward to working as the IOC co-commissioner this year, especially acting as a liaison between clubs and ASB. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, feel free to hit me up on Facebook or email us at email@example.com! :-)
LINK Commissioners: Michelle Tran
Hello! I'm Michelle and I'm incredibly excited and humbled to be the co-LINK commissioner for 2017-2018. As LINK commissioner, one of my main goals for the school year is to build an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students, starting with the freshman. As freshman start high school, they're entering unfamiliar terrain, and it can be intimidating. But LINK leaders are here to help!!! Through the LINK program our goal is to create bonds between upperclassmen and underclassmen, and help freshman year go a little smoother :-) Events Every year, LINK leaders are a vital part of freshman orientation. LINK leaders are all assigned a group of freshman whom they will help by giving freshman an idea what Irvington is like and showing them what's around so the don't get lost! The annual LINK movie night will be held in the cafeteria the Friday before Thanksgiving break. This event allows LINK leaders to bond with their freshman while watching a movie and eating some popcorn. LINK advisory visits will be every three weeks where LINK leaders go around during advisory and visit their freshman and catch up with each other. Along with LINK advisory visits we will have activities such as cookie decorating to allow LINK leaders to have more interactive bonding times with their freshman. If anyone has a questions, concerns, or suggestions ; feel free to email it to me or Tara through firstname.lastname@example.org@gmail.com :-)

Outreach: Angela Xuan
Hi my name is Angela Xuan and I'm going to be Outreach Co-Commissioner this year! My main goal is to create an inclusive environment for all of the IHS community. This means that besides reaching out to our students, I am also going to be reaching out to companies to gain sponsorships and grants for our school. In addition to this, I will be helping our Outreach Executive with anything she may need help with. Let's have a great year!
Outreach: Catherine Cheng
Hi everyone! My name Catherine Cheng, and I am beyond excited to serve as this year's Associated Student Government Outreach co-commissioner. This upcoming year, my tasks will include organizing and establishing pen pals, along with teacher-student relationships within the ASG class. Another one of my main jobs this year is to work on gaining sponsorships and grants from outside, local organizations and businesses. I hope to really bring justice to the word "outreach" in my commission's name. One of my main goals this year is to create new relationships within and outside of the Irvington community, and to expand all of our horizons! Being a brand new commission this year, I'm excited to see where this job will lead, and the impact it will leave behind. This year, I hope to start this commission off strong. There is always something to do and something new to plan. I can be reached at email@example.com for any questions or concerns!
Rally: Andrew Yamasaki
Rally: Lauren Sage
Hello IHS Vikings! My name is Lauren Sage and I am this years Rally Director. As Rally Director, I put together and plan each and every rally IHS sees. Along side with the rally commissioner, our over all goal for this year is to produce amazing rallies that not only bring IHS together but also pump the student body with spirit and pride. Through the Homecoming, Winter, Black Light, Multicultural, and End of the Year rally we hope to provide a feeling of community and pride to be a Viking! I would like to open the doors behind the secretive process of planning a rally and get as many people involved as possible to make every rally feel as if each group at Irvington has help in some way. If you have any ideas for a rally intro, game, or anything at all, please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org!
Service Learning: Andey Ng
ASG Service Learning Commissioner Hi guys! My name is Andey Ng and I'm so excited to be Irvington's 2017-2018 Service Learning Commissioner. My main role is collaborating with Mr. Lewis to create all the service learning events for Irvington that will educate students about our community while also helping them reach the 40 service hours required for graduation. Events This year, my job is to create exciting service events that will not only fun and engaging for everyone but also spread awareness and create empathy for the minority groups in our direct community. The profit at our service events will be donated to the designated charity depending on the event. In addition, I am partnering with Go Green to hold a beautification event, am the Co-chairman of Red Ribbon Week, and am heading the Sophomore class's WIP event. Irvington, Fremont and the Bay Area is unique where we have a wide spectrum of different people. However, we rarely get the opportunity to reach out of our bubble and interact with minority groups. Many of Irvington's students rarely get a chance to personally interact or make a change. Nevertheless, I the events I intend to hold events/drives that will help Irvington students get familiar with different groups of people such as the LGBTQ, Special Ed, Senior Citizens, Cancer Patients, the Illiterate and Underprivileged, and the Homeless . I'll also be publicizing other service opportunities outside of Irvington for those who are interested, so keep and eye out! I highly encourage to be active our IHS community, as it will be fun and insightful. If you ever need to contact me for suggestions, concerns, or anything else, please email email@example.com :) See you at our service learning events!
Service Learning: Sherin Lajevardi
Service Learning Commissioner Hi Irvington! My name is Sherin Lajevardi and I am looking forward to accomplishing significant things and serving as the a 2017-2018 Irvington High School Associated Student Government Service Learning Commissioner. My main goals and focuses this year are to organize and facilitate memorable service learning events that not only bring the school together, but also provide outreach to the community. Holistically, my main goal is to supply students with the opportunity to gain service hours while still actively learning and interacting with peers. Events This fall I am excited to organize our first luminaries event where students have the opportunity to create their own luminary and write a wish for cancer patients, along with raising money and awareness for the many people who suffer from cancer and other chronic illnesses. During the fall, we are also planning the LGBT tie-dye event. During the winter, I am looking forward toward organizing the usual food, clothing, and toy drives along with pennies for patients, primarily during Christmas time in order to reach out to children and families in need during the holidays.Additionally, we plan to hold pen pal events in order to reach out to underprivileged children and increase literacy locally. We also plan on starting tutoring sessions in which high school students earn service hours for tutoring children in low performing schools in order to provide them with academic help that would otherwise be out of reach for these children. During the spring, we plan to hold THON, a cancer-awareness event that raises money for the UCSF Cancer Research center. Additionally, we plan on holding the usual WIP Color Run event in which students celebrate the end of WIP, but also contribute money that is used towards a charity of choice. Lastly, I highly encourage all questions and believe strongly in maintaining a close connection with the student body, along with providing transparency. I am excited to organize events with the goal of bringing the student body together in order to work towards a greater good, and ultimately benefit Irvington, the community, and the city as a whole. Feel free to contact service learning or me personally at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to an amazing 2017-2018 year ! :)
Spirit: Caitlyn Hum
HELLO FELLOW VIKINGS! My name is Caitlyn Hum and I am extremely grateful to serve as one of your Spirit Commissioners for 2017-2018! This year I’d like to focus on student engagement, inclusiveness, and overall student happiness. My team and I will be working towards creating a fun and more enjoyable environment for Irvington High School students. This year the Spirit Commission will be organizing fun new noon activities for throughout the year, opened to anyone and everyone to come take part in! These events serve as a mini escape for students during the school day, away from the stress classes may bring! Spirit will also be working along side other commissions to re-vamp other events such as Clash of the Class, Spirit Week, and much more! Through these events and activities we hope to engage our student body and reach out to all of our different groups on campus. As part of the Spirit Commission I strive to help create a fun filled year for every student at Irvington! I am here to serve all IHS students and consider all opinions important. If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to see on Irvington’s Campus please feel free to email the Spirit Commission at email@example.com! LET’S HAVE AN AMAZING YEAR! GET HYPED VIKINGS! <3
Spirit: Derick Nguyen
ASG Spirit Commissioner Hey everybody! My name is Derick Nguyen and I am very excited to serve as your Spirit Commissioner for the 2017-2018 school year. As this is my fourth year at Irvington, I've grown to know what people say about the school. I have heard people say that students at Irvington are not unified or spirited, and that they only care about school. I have put it on me and my fellow Spirit Commissioners to change that and break the partitions that divide the student body. Events Some of my plans include creating more noon activities where students can come together and get more involved with the school, also getting to know each other in the process. Additionally, I would also like to help other commissions hype up the events which they are planning, as a spirited event is a better event. This can range anywhere from the rallies to sports games, where I will put it upon my commission to increase student attendance and maximize student interest. Lastly, I will work with Class Officers in planning out the annual Clash of the Classes. My biggest hope is that from my plans Irvington will no longer be known for its competitive and toxic student environment and become a place where students look around and feel like they are among family. While this may seem far fetched, I hope that it will become a reality. Of course, this will not be possible without student cooperation, and so I hope that we can work together hand-in-hand and create change. If you have any concerns or ideas, I am open to discussion. I promise I won't bite :)
Spirit: Shreyas Prasanna
HEY VIKINGS! I am Shreyas Prasanna and I hold the position as your 2017-2018 Spirit Commissioner! I am excited to work to improve the unity of our school. I believe that with help of Caitlyn and Derick we will be able to reach our goals. We obviously are focusing on the Spirit aspect via Spirit Weeks!!! We will try to consider spirit themes that are easier for students to participate in. (i.e. hat day vs cowboy hat day). We would also love to work with student body to determine spirit themes such as School Coachella (hopefully) and various types of events as such. Our main goal is to possibly come up with more dress up day ideas so that we aren't stuck doing the same thing every year and the more spirit days there are... the more our school has opportunities to come together. We are hoping to figure out a way that we can coordinate with teachers or possibly give students an incentive to participate in spirit week for a better resulted outcome. As a commission, we serve to improve the current Clash of the Classes, a fun competition between classes, by creating games that the student body actually wants to participate in. We will have a variety of activities that cater to every students preferences to create the ideal night! We strive to expand in order to include acts such as Mr. IHS, Goof Troop, and teachers to create a closer and more comfortable environment. We also want to bring in a wider variety of people to audition and participate for the rallies. We would love to work with other commissions and possibly give previews of the rally to increase the hype. We would like to focus on Sports teams and figure out ways to increase participation of the student body. We are excited to work with Appreciation to increase attendance to Irvington High School games. I cannot express how excited I am to serve as your Spirit Commissioner and please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding ASB/School/Food in person or at firstname.lastname@example.org. Here is to a great year ahead!!!!
Visualizations Team: Meghan Wu
Hello! My name is Meghan Wu and I am apart of the Visualizations Team 2017-2018. The Visualizations Team involves all aspects of social media (fliers, designs, videos) and post them online and on campus. I have a huge passion for creating content on Photoshop (fliers/designs) and Sony Vegas Pro (videos). From looking at all the new movies, tv shows, and YouTube videos, I've become inspired by how they make these amazing pieces of artwork. I was memorized by the cinematography and the technical aspect of the different shots and how people edited them together. The goals I want to achieve this year in ASG are to make eye catching fliers and post behind-the-scenes videos/pictures on our IHS social media platforms (I.e snapchat, Instagram). By showing our school what we do as an ASG class, it will hopefully help everyone better understand the dedication and creativity we have towards Irvington High School. I am really looking forward to all the new creations my team is going to make and hope you all enjoy them as much as we had fun making them.
Visualizations Team: Raymond Pa
Hello, my name is Raymond Pai and I'm one of four members of the 2017-2018 Irvington High School Associated Student Government's Visualizations Team. We are a team of ASG members responsible for all publicity at Irvington High School (such as online fliers, posters, videos, and the Vikings Website). Beyond the technicalities of the position, I aim to pursue building a positive, inclusive, and informed community for the students of Irvington High School by making it fun, welcoming, and easy to participate in school events. This year my team and I will organizing Irvington High School's annual Winterball. By reevaluating our previous iterations of the event, I will plan to make this year's Winterball a festive experience with broad and diverse participation from the student community. My team and I are here to provide a bridge of communication between ASG and the student body. Such a bridge can only be effective if our publicity allows everyone to feel included. If you are ever confused or concerned about the content of our media I encourage you to let us know on ways we can improve for the future. I look forward to publicizing many of the great events and experiences we have to offer for your high school experience.
